Lanterns of all sizes, shapes, and colors are found throughout Japan. They are pretty cool to photograph. This is a collection of Japanese Lanterns photographed in Nagano, Tokyo, and Nagoya cities. Jim Atwood Photography on the move!

Self Portrait Car Profile – It’s quite limiting sitting in the car and looking for ways to do self portraits. In this photo I had the Nikon D70s setting on the steering wheel. I had it focused for a certain distance and I pressed the shutter with my left hand. Tricky but it worked. I usually keep my old Nikon D70s and the Nikkor 20-35mm f/2.8 lens in the back seat of my car for those moments when I’m either bored or need a camera fast. You never know what you might run into!

Window Jock – I particularly like this candid shot of a Japanese Window Washer in downtown Nagano city. You can see he is looking right at me when I took the photo. I thought, what are you going to do? Run after me?….laugh…joke.
