Window Jock - I particularly like this candid shot of a Japanese Window Washer in downtown Nagano city. You can see he is looking right at me when I took the photo. I thought, what are you going to do? Run after me?….laugh…joke.

This image depicts a Japanese monk walking up the main path to entrance of Zenkoji Temple in Nagano City, Japan. I often see these color monks when I hang around Zenkoji. They usually show up every hour or so. This particular monk was very colorful and quite friendly in appearance.

This was a watermelon found on the side of the street. I believe a cat or something got to it because the outer edges were quite broken and raw.

The tiles of Japanese homes are very interesting. This made for a cool texture I thought. Black and White really made the photo pop rather than color I thought.

I thought this was a cool window shot taken of a building in downtown Nagano city. I was really working the narrow back alleys and finding some really interesting stuff. I also like the blue frames on this photo.

I saw these two old televisions propped up atop an old refridgerator and thought they were instantly in love….laugh. Although people throw lots of stuff like this away in Japan, I haven’t seen anything like this for a while. I also thought it was interesting how the two TVs were the same size, but […]

Taxis are often found lined up along side of the road waiting for customers. In Nagano the taxis literally are in line waiting for the next client as you have to grab a taxi from the head of the line first. The drivers are very good about this and will usher you to […]

If you look at my previous shot, you’ll see that this guy looks a bit older and is smoking a cigarette…on the job too. This gentelman is most likely the supervisor or leader of the group. In Japan if you are the supervisor you’re often seen with cigarette in one hand and finger […]

At the same time as the Sakura, you find a lot of these extremely bright yellow followers all over the place. I don’t know their name, but they are abundant here in Nagano. I thought these flowers looked like they were fighting for a place in line. Fun shot.
