Blurred Kanji

Posted on January 11, 2008 by Jim Atwood in Flickr Japan | Comments

Used the tilt lens effect created in Photoshop on this photograph. I wanted to do something a little more artistic and thought this worked perfectly for the look I was aiming for. The meaning of this Kanji is "Big" which is why I did a closeup without taking too much away from the Kanji Character itself. I had fun with this one.

Red in Winter Japan

One of my favorite colors is red, especially when shooting with the camera. I found this lonely red flower with a New Year fortune wrapped around the stem. Although it’s nearing the end of it’s time, I thought there was still enough life left in it to photograph. I also thought the white bokeh circle behind it worked as a nice backdrop to the flower.

Spiritual Change

Located at Zenkoji, this is a sort of wishing well where people donate money in return for a spiritual wish. On this particular day there was quite a lot of change in the water.
